TOUR / OFFICIAL TAPING POLICY |
UPDATED MARCH 13, 2009 Audience taping is permitted at all shows, whether audio or video. Candlebox believes that the taping and proliferation of such live recordings promotes fan interaction and is an invaluable grassroots marketing tool. There are, however, a few simple guidelines that the band insists be followed. With responsible recording, use, and distribution, fans will continue to enjoy the privilege of taping Candlebox live performances. These guidelines are as follows:
If you participate in the free exchange of live Candlebox music, you acknowledge and respect the copyrights and exclusive ownership of the music and performances by the band. Candlebox reserves the right to seek legal remedies against anyone that is in violation of this policy. In the interests of making any such recordings as openly accessible as possible to all fans who may be interested, Candlebox requests that all tapers upload their recordings to the Live Music Archive: http://www.archive.org/details/etree. In the past, shows have been uploaded to various bit torrent networks. While the benefits of bit torrent are obvious, our experience has been that it has presented a significant barrier for Candlebox fans, inhibiting them from downloading and enjoying live recordings. Many fans are unable to gain membership to communities such as dimeadozen, are unable to successfully wrap their heads around bit torrent technology, and it's just easy for recordings to get lost and forgotten via bit torrent communities. Uploading to the Live Music Archive ensures that recordings will be accessible indefinitely. |
